Football: Miller re-joins Rangers for third spell

Former Scotland striker Kenny Miller has returned to Rangers for a third spell at Ibrox, the Glasgow club announced on Wednesday.

Miller, 34, has agreed a one-year deal with Rangers with the option for a second season after terminating his contract with Major League Soccer side Vancouver Whitecaps last month.

He initially joined Rangers from Hibernian for the 2000/01 season before coming back for a second stint seven years later, winning three top-flight league titles before leaving for Turkish outfit Bursaspor in 2011.

"I am thrilled to return to Rangers for a third time," Miller told the club's official website.

"I have enjoyed so much success at this great football club and I am determined to repeat it again next season and beyond.

"Rangers is a special football club and we are on the rise again and I want to play my part as we look to get back to the top of Scottish football."

Rangers manager Ally McCoist was equally as pleased to secure the services of Miller as the fallen Glasgow giants seek to return to the Scottish Premiership.

"We are delighted to welcome Kenny back to Ibrox," said McCoist.

"Kenny brings experience and pace to our forward line and will be a great influence on our younger players at (training ground) Murray Park.

"He is a top-class footballer and we look forward to seeing him in a Rangers jersey once again as we look to secure promotion to the top flight next season."
