Fabregas out of Spain's Euro qualifier, Germany clash

Spain suffered a blow on Tuesday when Cesc Fabregas had to pull out of their Euro 2016 qualifier with Belarus and the friendly against Germany with a hamstring injury.

Coach Vicente del Bosque has called up Villarreal's Bruno Soriano to fill the Chelsea midfielder's place.

The Spanish Football Federation confirmed Fabregas's absence for Saturday's Group C date with Belarus in Huelva and the prestige friendly against world champions Germany in Vigo next Tuesday.

"While tests have ruled out a muscle tear, the player continues to have a hamstring problem and the medical service advises that for a complete recovery he doesn't play in these games," the statement read.

Spain are second in Group C behind Slovakia and need maximum points in Huelva to keep their qualification bid on track.
