Valencia have made a 25 million-euro ($30m) offer to Benfica for Argentina international midfielder Enzo Perez, the Portuguese champions said on Monday.

Benfica said in a statement they had given the 28-year-old permission to speak to the La Liga side.

Perez was part of the Argentina squad that got to the World Cup final in Brazil in July and has scored once in 15 appearances for the national side.
