Swansea say Bony's Man City move not complete

Swansea City on Wednesday denied a claim by the Ivory Coast Football Federation that striker Wilfried Bony's move to their Premier League rivals Manchester City had been completed.

The Ivorian federation announced on its website: "The attacker Wilfried Bony has just signed for Manchester City this Wednesday."

But in a message on their official Twitter page, Swansea wrote: "Wilfried Bony has NOT yet completed his move to @MCFC. Once completed, we will confirm via official channels -- not the Ivory Coast FA!"

The message was retweeted by Manchester City's official Twitter account.

The two clubs are in talks over a move for Bony, with British media reports claiming English champions City have agreed to pay a transfer fee of up to £28 million ($42 million, 36 million euros) for him.

Bony, 26, is currently on international duty with Ivory Coast at the Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea.

The dreadlocked centre-forward joined Swansea from Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem in 2013 for a club-record fee of £12 million.

He was the Premier League's top scorer in 2014 with 20 goals and has scored nine times in 22 appearances this season.
