Hoffenheim's South Korean left-back Kim Jin-Su has been ruled out of international duty with concussion, his Bundesliga club said Monday, but Korean coach Uli Stielike is demanding a doctor's note.

Kim, 22, is said to have suffered the injury in Saturday's goalless draw with Paderborn, but managed to complete the full 90 minutes of the German league match.

He will miss South Korea's internationals against Uzbekistan on March 27 in Daejeon and against New Zealand in Seoul on March 31.

Hoffenheim initially requested Kim not be selected for the matches as the club wanted to keep the defender in Germany after he had missed most of January while on Asian Cup duty and he has already played eight league matches in 2015.

But the the request was turned down and Korea's German coach Stielike has said he wants to see a doctor's certificate confirming Kim's injury.

"We will request a medical certificate and ensure our people talk directly with him," Stielike told German magazine Kicker.

Hoffenheim coach Markus Gisdol had previously attacked Stielike on Friday when he said: "It's crazy, I am sure there are a few other defenders in South Korea who could play in the friendlies."

Stielike had called up five South Korean internationals from the Bundesliga including Kim, Son Heung-Min from Bayer Leverkusen, Koo Ja-Cheol and Park Joo-Ho from Mainz 05 and Ji Dong-Won from Augsburg.
