Arsenal's Jack Wilshere has been charged with misconduct after leading the club's supporters in chants against Tottenham Hotspur during their FA Cup victory parade, the Football Association announced on Wednesday.

Wilshere, 23, took to the microphone and led fans in two crude chants about their arch rivals Spurs during Sunday's open-top bus parade in north London, a day after Arsenal's 4-0 win over Aston Villa in the FA Cup final.

Having been warned by the FA for doing the same thing during last season's FA Cup victory parade, the England midfielder now faces disciplinary action.

"Jack Wilshere has been charged with misconduct in relation to Arsenal's FA Cup celebrations on Sunday 31 May 2015," the FA said in a statement on its website.

"It is alleged his conduct in making and/or inciting certain comments during the club's open bus trophy tour was improper and/or brought the game into disrepute."

Wilshere, who came through Arsenal's youth system, has until 1700 GMT on June 10 to respond to the charge.

He has already expressed regret over his behaviour, writing on Twitter: "Sharing back2back Cup wins with so many amazing Gooners is a dream come true. Apologies if I upset or offended any of u with my celebrations."

Arsenal issued a swift apology during their in-house media broadcast of the parade and are understood to have spoken to Wilshere about his conduct.
