Aberdeen continued their storming start to the Scottish Premiership season by winning 3-1 at Hearts on Sunday to register their eighth victory in eight matches.

David Goodwillie justified his selection ahead of Adam Rooney by scoring a brace and Niall McGinn scored a fine goal to go with two assists for Goodwillie as the Dons won at Tynecastle for the first time since 2010.

Igor Rossi replied for Hearts, who have now lost three games in succession.

The victory preserved Aberdeen's five-point lead over defending champions Celtic, who crushed Dundee 6-0 at Celtic Park.

Honduran left-back Emilio Izaguirre, sent off against Ajax in the Europa League on Thursday, scored twice, with Australian midfielder Tom Rogic, Leigh Griffiths, captain Scott Brown and Nadir Ciftci also on target.

Izaguirre scored twice in seven minutes early in the second half, but squandered a chance to claim a hat-trick by blazing a penalty over the bar.
