Premier League-based winger Victor Moses has been recalled by Nigeria for two crucial 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Egypt later this month.

Nigeria take on Egypt in qualifying Group G on March 25 in Kaduna before the sides meet again in Alexandria four days later.

Moses, who is on a season-long loan at West Ham United from Chelsea, has not played for his country for more than a year, including the eight-month reign of former coach Sunday Oliseh.

Injuries have been a major reason behind his absence from the team.

Former Eagles coach Oliseh had planned to visit the player in London before his shock resignation, but even he raised concerns over the fitness of the gifted player.

Moses was one of the stars when Nigeria won a third Nations Cup title in South Africa three years ago.

Caretaker coach Samson Siasia has named a 42-man squad made up of 22 players from the domestic league and 20 from abroad.

Uncapped Fanendo Adi, Umar Aminu and Stanley Amuzie have also been called up.

Adi, 25, scored 19 goals last season to help Portland Timbers win a first MLS championship, while Aminu has been in superlative form for Turkish Super League club Osmanlispor and Portugal-based defender Amuzie has bounced back after a long-term knee injury he suffered early last year on duty with the Nigeria under-23s.
