Eidur Gudjohnsen's teen half-brother signs for Swansea

Swansea City signed the teenage half-brother of Icelandic football icon Eidur Gudjohnsen on Friday and placed him with the Under-18 squad.

Arnor Borg Gudjohnsen, 16, impressed on trial at the Premier League club earlier this season and whilst terms were agreed with his club Breidablik UBK in March he only officially put pen to paper on Friday signing a three year deal.

"It's great to be here. I am looking forward to the challenge and I am excited to get started," he said on the club website.

The teenage Gudjohnsen, whose compatriot Gylfi Sigurdsson was Swansea's star performer last season and pivotal to retaining their Premier League status, is the son of Arnor Gudjohnsen, who was capped 73 times and played for Belgian side Anderlecht.

Eidur, who is 38 and won his 88th and final cap at Euro 2016 where Iceland memorably eliminated England from the competition, won the Champions League and Spanish title with Barcelona as well as the English Premier League crown with Chelsea.

He and Arnor made football history in 1996 when Eidur came off the bench to replace his father in Iceland's 3-0 friendly victory over Estonia.
