European transfers on Thursday, the penultimate day of the January transfer window:

West Ham sign Razak from Anzhi

Premier League strugglers West Ham United, fresh from holding Chelsea to a goalless draw on Wednesday, have signed Ivory Coast midfielder Abdul Razak.

The 21-year-old former Manchester City player joins from Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala, who signed him in October.

Previously Razak, who started out life at Crystal Palace before coming through the ranks at City, had loan spells with Portsmouth, Brighton and Hove Albion and Charlton Athletic after finding first-team chances few and far between at the Etihad Stadium.

Razak is West Ham boss Sam Allardyce's fourth signing of the January transfer window after loan deals for Wolves defender Roger Johnson and Italy internationals Antonio Nocerino and Marco Borriello.

Black Cats nab Argentine striker Scocco

Sunderland celebrated moving out of the Premier League relegation zone for the first time since August by announcing the arrival of Argentina striker Ignacio Scocco.

The 28-year-old joins Gus Poyet's side from Internacional of Brazil for an undisclosed fee on a two-and-a-half-year deal.

He is the fourth new face at the Stadium of Light this month following Spanish full-back Marcos Alonso's arrival on loan and the capture of Scocco's compatriots Oscar Ustari and Santiago Vergini.

Poyet is hoping to recruit a fifth player before Friday's deadline - namely Brighton midfielder Liam Bridcutt who is understood to be heading for Wearside to undergo a medical after the two clubs agreed a fee in the region of £2.5 million ($4.1m).

Norwich swoop to land Fenerbache's Yobo

Norwich have signed Nigerian defender Joseph Yobo on loan for the rest of the season from Turkish club Fenerbahce.

Canaries boss Chris Hughton had been keen to bring in the former Everton centre-back to provide cover for the injured Michael Turner.

The Premier League club confirmed the deal on Twitter: "NCFC can confirm the loan signing of Joseph Yobo from Fenerbahce until the end of the season, subject to governing body approval."

The 33-year-old Nigeria international joined Fenerbahce in 2010, initially on loan, having played for Everton since 2002.
