After a nice match Colombia beats Japan 4-1 and reach the Round of 16 as leader of Group C. Ten minutes have been played in the second half, when Jackson Martínez scored the 2-1. Afterwards the Samurai Blue found the way back into the driving seat and created some chances. But their efforts didn't find the way into the back of the net. In the 82th minute Jackson Martínez scored for the second time and decided the match. Eight minutes later James Rodríguez finishes a nice counter attack stunningly and scored for the 4-1 end result. In the the first 45 minutes of the match the fans in Cuiabá have seen two goals already. In the 17th minute Juan Cuadrado scored by penalty and brought Los Cafeteros into the leading position. The Blue Samurai needed some time to overcome the shock and got back into the driving seat after 25 minutes. Until now Colombia and Japan met two times in international football. In the group stage of the 2003 Confederations Cup Los Cafeteros beat the Samurai Blue 1-0 and in 2007 the sides drew 0-0 in a friendly in Japan.
The Tricolor are supported by a lot of fans from their home country in Brazil. According to the FIFA 54.000 Colombians have ordered a ticket for the World Cup, but even more people from the north-west of South America are expected in Cuiabá. Relating to the support, Los Cafeteros will feel like playing at home.
Since Colombia already reached the Round of 16 José Pekerman rest eight of his players, who were in the starting eleven against Ivory Coast. Only goalkeeper David Ospina, midfielder Pablo Armero and midfielder Juan Cuadrado stay in the starting lineup.
The manager of Japan Alberto Zaccheroni changed his starting lineup in comparison to the 0-0 against Greece two times. Today Toshihiro Aoyama and Shinji Kagawa are in the first eleven, Hotaru Yamaguchi and Yuya Osako sit on the bench.

Japan lost its first match against Ivory Coast 1-2 and parted with a 0-0 draw from Greece in the second. The Samurai Blue still have a chance to reach the Round of 16, but they need help from Greece in its match against the Elephants. Ivory Coast already have three points and if the Africans win against the European, Japan would be out of the tournament.
Colombia, which won both of its matches in this World Cup, already have a ticket for the Round of 16. Los Cafeteros beat Greece 3-0 in the first match and celebrated another victory in the clash against Ivory Coast. After goals from James Rodríguez and Juan Quintero only Gervinho scored once for the Elephants and the final result was 2-1.
