Ex-Hamburg coach Mirko Slomka has taken the Bundesliga's bottom club to court for unfair dismissal after his sacking last month following only seven months in charge, it was confirmed Thursday.

The Hanseatic City's labour court has confirmed that Slomka has filed a complaint against Hamburg for "dismissal without notice" after he was sacked on September 15 after just one point from his first three matches of the season.

The club announced the day after that his replacement would be Josef Zinnbauer, but the 44-year-old has been unable to prevent Hamburg being rooted to the bottom of the league table.

Slomka, 47, who has also coached Bundesliga clubs Schalke 04 and Hanover 96, took over after ex-Netherlands coach Bert van Marwijk was sacked in February and managed to keep Hamburg in the Bundesliga after a play-off at the end of last season.

Slomka's original contract, which was terminated by Hamburg, runs until June 2016 and his co-coach, Nikola Vidovic, has also filed a complaint.
