Former Bayern Munich defender Breno is set to quit Germany for Brazil this week after being granted parole having served more than two years in prison for arson.

The 25-year-old Brazilian was sentenced to three years, nine months in July 2012 after being convicted of arson having started the fire which gutted his luxury Munich home in September 2011.

His prison sentence was suspended by a German court last week for good behaviour and he has until December 20 to leave Germany, but may not return for a minimum of three years.

For the last few months, the centre-back, who made 13 Bundesliga appearances for Bayern between 2010 and 2012, had been working on day release as a coach with one of the Bavarian giants' youth teams.

German daily Bild report Breno plans to take his family home to Brazil and wants to resume his career with former club Sao Paulo.
