Italian international midfielder Alberto Aquilani left Fiorentina on Thursday and signed a three-year deal with Sporting Lisbon, the Portuguese club revealed on Facebook.

Aquilani, dubbed the 'little prince', spent three seasons in Serie A with Fiorentina having started his career in Italy with Roma.

The 31-year-old, who has won 38 caps, also spent a disappointing three years at Liverpool being loaned out to Juventus and AC Milan.
