Argentine midfielder Diego Perotti has signed for Roma on a six-month loan deal from Genoa, the capital club said on Monday.

Perotti, 27, is expected to line up for Roma when they travel to Sassuolo on Tuesday looking to claim their second successive win under new coach Luciano Spalletti.

Roma have yet to reveal the exact details of the deal, but Spalletti said Monday: "Diego Perotti has joined and he can play his part. He can operate in several positions."

Perotti spent the bulk of his career at Sevilla, appearing in 159 competitive games over six La Liga seasons, scoring 16 goals and winning the Spanish Cup (2010) and the Europa League, in 2014.

Roma sit fifth in Serie A, 12 points behind leaders Napoli.
