Gibraltar sack coach ahead of Scotland clash

European championship qualifying minnows Gibraltar have parted ways with manager Allen Bula less than a month before they face Scotland in a crucial qualifier for Gordon Strachan's men.

"The Gibraltar Football Association can confirm that it has parted company with National A Team Manager Allen Bula, with immediate effect," the Gibraltar FA said in a statement.

"After a thorough and careful investigation, into internal matters, the Gibraltar FA has come to the decision that an immediate change was appropriate. It is not a decision that has been reached lightly or hastily."

Gibraltar are taking part in their first ever UEFA qualifying campaign after being granted membership in 2013.

Under Bula they suffered back-to-back 7-0 thrashings to Poland and the Republic of Ireland in their first two competitive matches.

However, they fared much better in a 4-0 defeat away to world champions Germany in their last outing.

Scotland, who are in the running to qualify for their first major tournament since 1998, host Gibraltar at Hampden Park on March 29.
