Higuain dismisses Napoli exit rumours

Gonzalo Higuain has dismissed speculation he could be on his way out of Napoli after scoring a first-half winner against Lazio to move Rafael Benitez's side up to third in Serie A on Sunday.

The Argentina striker has been linked with a move to Liverpool, with reports in England on Saturday claiming Higuain could leave Napoli in the summer.

But Higuain, who has now scored 10 goals this season to sit one behind league-leading Juventus striker Carlos Tevez, told Sky Sport: "I'm happy here, I have a contract here."

Reports suggest Higuain could quit Napoli if the Partenopei fail to claim at least a third-place finish that would offer a place in the Champions League.

Napoli finished third last season, but Benitez's men failed to make the group stages of the competition after being ousted in the play-offs by Athletic Bilbao.
