Major League Soccer will open the 2016 season on Sunday, March 6 with all 20 teams playing over a record 10 matches, the North American league announced Tuesday.

The opening day line-up includes a rematch of the 2015 MLS Cup final with the champion Portland Timbers hosting the Columbus Crew, the five-time champion Los Angeles Galaxy hosting four-time champion DC United and Montreal visiting Vancouver.

Other opening-day match-ups for the 21st MLS campaign find Toronto at New York Red Bulls, Real Salt Lake at Orlando City, New York City at Chicago, Philadelphia at Dallas, New England at Houston, Colorado at San Jose and Sporting Kansas City at Seattle.

It will be the first time since 2005 that all teams will play on the opening day of the season.

Home openers for 10 other teams were also announced, the latest of them being Toronto's May 7 debut against Dallas due to stadium renovations, with a full schedule to be released on January 7.
