Benzema and Varane to miss Levante match with fever

Fever-struck French internationals Karim Benzema and Raphael Varane will likely miss Saturday's La Liga match against Levante, according to coach Carlo Ancelotti.

"We had a problem this morning with Varane and Benzema, who woke up with a fever," Ancelotti said.

"I don't think they'll be available for tomorrow (Saturday)."

With Sergio Ramos (calf) also out, Ancelotti said Nacho would likely slot in next to Pepe in central defence.

Benzema's potential absence could hand Mexican Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez his first start since his arrival from Manchester United in the summer.

Better news for Ancelotti came in the form of Germany midfielder Sami Khedira taking a full part in training after recovering from his thigh injury.

"He's totally recovered, he trained with the team and is ready to play," the Italian coach said.

Currently lying fourth in La Liga, Real face a tricky week, with Saturday's trip to Levante followed by an away Champions League tie at Liverpool on Wednesday before entertaining Barcelona at the Bernabeu a week Saturday.
