CSKA hit six, Zenit drop points

Russian Premier League leaders Zenit St Petersburg battled back from two goals down to claim a 2-2 draw at FC Krasnodar on Saturday while CSKA Moscow routed Kuban 6-0.

Zenit still lead with 26 points from 10 matches despite dropping points for the second successive match but they are now just two ahead of reigning champions CSKA.

FC Krasnodar were 2-0 ahead inside 20 minutes through Iceland defender Ragnar Sigurdsson and midfielder Pavel Mamaev.

Spaniard Javi Garcia pulled one back with six minutes remaining in the first half, scoring after a free-kick by Andrei Arshavin.

Hulk pulled the scores level just before the hour mark when he collected Miguel Danny's pass and worked his way into the area to score into the far right corner with a low shot.

Zenit's Argentine defender Ezequiel Garay was sent off in the 69th minute for a professional foul on Colombian midfielder Ricardo Laborde.

Zenit manager Andre Villas-Boas blamed poor officiating for his team's inability to claim the three points.

"The game didn't turn out as we had expected," the former Chelsea and Tottenham manager said.

"The official made a mistake with the initial foul that resulted in the first goal, along with the call and red card against Garay."

Nigerian Ahmed Musa and Ivory Coast's Seydou Doumbia scored two goals each as champions CSKA cruised to a 6-0 romp of the other Krasnodar outfit, Kuban.

Musa put the Red Army side in front in the 14th minute when he received a pinpoint pass from Roman Eremenko before beating Kuban 'keeper Alexander Belenov.

Finland international midfielder Eremenko doubled CSKA's advantage four minutes later.

After the interval, Kuban defender Igor Armash scored an own goal for 3-0 before Musa netted his second of the match.

Second-half substitute Doumbia then score a brace to secure CSKA's fifth consecutive win.

"At the beginning the game was much harder than the scoreline shows," CSKA manager Leonid Slutsky said.

"Luckily, we scored two early goals and kept play under control. The third goal decided the match."
