South Africa to drop Keet after howler

South Africa are set to drop goalkeeper Darren Keet for their crucial Africa Cup of Nations Group C match against Senegal in Mongomo on Friday.

Belgium-based Keet is set to pay the price for a goalkeeping howler in his team's opening day 3-1 defeat at the hands of Algeria.

He will be replaced by Jackson Mabokgwane, the Mpumalanga Black Aces goalkeeper who has only one cap for Bafana Bafana.

The other first-team change by coach 'Shakes' Mashaba will see Kaizer Chiefs' towering central defender Molomuwandau Mathoho come in for teenager Rivaldo Coetzee, who has been ruled out after he was injured against Algeria.

Mathoho was red carded in his team's final qualifier in Nigeria in November and so missed Monday's clash against Algeria due to suspension.

South Africa need a result against Senegal, who beat Ghana 2-1 in their opening group match, to stay alive in the competition.
