Leicester, Aston Villa charged over melee

Leicester City and Aston Villa have been charged over the conduct of their players during their Premier League encounter on Saturday, the Football Association announced on Tuesday.

The charges relate to an injury-time shoving match that erupted following a late challenge on Villa's Jores Okore by Leicester's Matty James, which saw James and Villa defender Ciaran Clark sent off.

"It is alleged that during added time at the end of the second half, both clubs failed to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and/or refrained from provocative behaviour," the FA said in a statement on its website.

The two clubs have until 1800 GMT on Friday to respond to the charges.

Home team Leicester won the match 1-0 courtesy of a Paul Konchesky goal.
