Coleman's return from horrific injury 'superhuman': Allardyce

Seamus Coleman's return to Everton's first team earned rare praise from manager Sam Allardyce who described it on Friday as "almost superhuman".

The 29-year-old Irish international full-back played the whole of the 2-1 win over Leicester City on Wednesday just 10 months after he broke a leg following a horrific tackle by Wales defender Neil Taylor in their 2018 World Cup qualifier.

Coleman -- whose injury was so bad he required an oxygen mask as treatment was given -- had a much-needed morale boost whilst he recovered with a new five-year contract.

"I don't go this far normally but it was almost superhuman," said Allardyce at his Friday press conference.

However, Allardyce said it was by no means certain Coleman would turn out again this weekend against Arsenal.

"We have to have an assessment this morning on when do we play him again. He says he's fine," said Allardyce.
