Germany leads the last FIFA women football rankings before the World Cup starts in June but the gap has been narrowed by the United States and France.

The United States beat France in the final of the Algarve Cup in March to get within 10 points of the German women who suffered a shock defeat to Sweden in the group stage.

England's defeat of World Cup hosts Canada in the Cyprus Cup final in March took them to within seven points of fifth-placed Sweden, while Canada climbed one place to joint eighth with North Korea, the only top 10 ranked side to fail to reach the World Cup which starts June 6.

China, who will be in Canada, have suffered a serious setback after a disastrous run of four draws and five defeats, which has seen them drop three places to 16th.
