Brazil take it easy in wake of opening win

Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari on Friday gave the players who started in the previous day's 3-1 win against Croatia a rest from outdoor training at the Selecao's base in Teresopolis.

The squad returned from Sao Paulo, where Brazil beat the Croats in their World Cup Group A opener at the Corinthians Arena, late on Thursday evening, and only the goalkeepers and substitutes appeared on the training ground at Granja Comary.

They took part in an improvised game of beach foot-volleyball in front of a small band of supporters privileged enough to have access to the estate in the shadow of picturesque mountains 100 kilometres north of Rio de Janeiro.

The training session had been brought forward from the afternoon to allow the squad to watch together the Group A game between Mexico and Cameroon, being played in Natal at 1300 local time (1600 GMT).

Scolari's side are next in action on Tuesday, June 17, when they face Mexico in the northern city of Fortaleza, before they travel to the capital Brasilia to face Cameroon on June 23.
