Endgame Summary:

A thoroughly enjoyable game of football! Messi found his way onto the score sheet after Bosnia-Herzegovina made Alejandro Sabella's side work for everything they got. Both Vedad Ibišević and Izet Hajrović played well for their country and will have to do more going forward if they wish to see their World Cup dreams continue. For the Argentines, their brilliant playmaker continued to live up to his reputation. Despite his struggles to score in the World Cup, Messi took his strike cooly and could have scored on a couple other opportunities. The final score may not show how much effort the Bosnians put into a match they might believe they deserved to win. What a conclusion to the final match of the weekend! Until next time!

Thats the final whistle!

Goooal for Bosnia-Herzegovina, 2:1 by Vedad Ibišević
And Bosnia have made things interesting! Ibišević receives a through ball from Lulić and manages to squeeze the left-footed shot right by Romero. Now these next five minutes will be extremely painful for Argentina fans!
82'
Bosnia had a couple chances but a deflection turns into an Argentina counter. Messi's effort in front of goal is turned away before he can get his foot to it but the home side settle with a short corner.
79'
Despite what looks to be a losing result, Bosnia will learn quite a bit from the match. They have showed plenty of talent thus far.
77'
The game has taken a rather slow turn. Argentina are more than comfortable slowing down their pace and their opponents seem resigned in the result.
74'
Safet Sušić continues to make changes for his side. Perhaps he's trying to preserve legs for their next match with just over 15 minutes remaining.
74'
Substitution (in) Bosnia-Herzegovina -> Haris Medunjanin
74'
Substitution (out) Bosnia-Herzegovina -> Zvjezdan Misimović
73'
Despite being broken twice, Bosnia-Herzegovina still look comfortable defending. They have to be very careful with possession now that their opponents look to be in attack mode.

71'
Substitution (out) Bosnia-Herzegovina -> Izet Hajrović

67'
A much needed goal by Messi and now Argentina are comfortably ahead.
65'
Goooal for Argentina, 2:0 by Lionel Messi
He's finally found his way into the scorebooks! From right about the penalty area, the striker takes a swing at the ball with his left foot. After starting the build up and getting a return pass. The shot took a deflection off a player and the left post but finds its way into the back of the net.
64'
Messi doesn't quite get the penalty right and lifts it well above the wall and the goal.
63'
Emir Spahić (Bosnia-Herzegovina) is shown a yellow card
Agüero draws a penalty near the penalty area and Spahic sees yellow for a rather rough challenge.
60'
Messi has created yet another chance. After Hajrović lost the ball, Messi delivered a pass in to his teammate Agüero but Begović does well to dive in front of the shot and allay any fears of being down two.
59'
Yet another Bosnian corner whipped into the box. But Lulić makes a mess of the return pass.
57'
Just like in the first half, it looks like Argentina have finally picked up the pace. They are much more decisive in their runs and both Agüero and Messi have made dangerous runs at the back line.
55'
Messi slices a pass in to Agüero. His teammate makes a mess of the excellent delivery about six yards from goal. The score remains unchanged.
55'
Another effort from Hajrović. Once again Romero can get behind the shot and takes his time gathering it into his chest. Bosnia will need a better effort than that to equalize.
54'
This game looks like its ready to open up a lot. Both Argentina and Bosnia-Herzegovina are sending plenty of men forward. The chance of counter attacking in the second half seems very likely.
52'
Džeko just misses Misimović along the left flank, but after another Argentina mistake, Bosnia are back on possession. This has been avery shaky start.
50'
The effort was well taken but Romero tracks it the entire way. Argentina have once again given away possession. They look rather sloppy in the opening stages of the second half.
49'
After a questionable challenge, Bosnia have a great chance in front of goal from about 25 yards out. Hajrović prepares to take the effort.
48'
The first buildup by La Albiceleste is well covered by the back line of the Dragons. Argentina are still on possession but they have lots of work to do.
46'
Argentina have conceded an early corner after a quick attack by Bosnia-Herzegovina. A long range effort is easily deflected by the wall. They prepare the build up from the back.

Second Half begins
45'
Halftime Summary:

45 minutes remain! But for an own goal, the story of the first half might have been very different. Bosnia-Herzegovnia played a very solid half of football and limited Argentina's chances. The favored team looked very comfortable sitting back and keeping their aggression low until about the 30 minute mark of the first half. There is still plenty of football to be played, however, and if the Bosnians look to equalize, it will rest on the shoulders of Edin Džeko. Despite being down a goal, the Bosnian side appears to have confidence in their approach. The next half will have plenty of action and maybe another goal or two!
45'
Half-Time
45'
Just one added minute before halftime.
45'
A little bit of Messi magic as he weaves through defenders at will in the penalty box. He tries to pick out the perfect pass to Agüero sitting in front of the net but his pass is picked out well.
44'
Not much from either side as the ball has ended up settling itself in the midfield. Both teams will find something positive to talk about at the break.
42'
The Lulić header was perhaps the best chance of the night! Bosnia-Herzegovina have played well with Argentina thus far.
40'
A big chance for Bosnia! A header from Senad Lulić after a Bosnian corner almost finds the left post but Romero makes an excellent save. The second corner finds no one in the box and Argentina clear to midfield.
38'
Bosnia try to create something off the counter but the Argentina back line has done well all night to ensure that their opponents don't get level.
37'
Ermin Bičakčić and Kun Agüero are a bit shaken up after colliding in the air. Both players were innocently going for the ball but they'll have a bit of throbbing head pain for the next few minutes.
35'
Despite Argentina's increased aggression, the Golden Lillies have done well to keep their composure. They look live they've faced this kind of World Cup adversity ten times over.
33'
Džeko corrals a pass well, turns and takes a shot on goal. His left foot smashes the ball towards goal but Sergio Romero sees the effort sail over the right side of his goal.
32'
This time Mascherano takes a swing! Begović does well to put himself in front of the strike but can only clear it as far as Argentina's second line. Now the Argentine midfield looks more interested in the match!
31'
A shot by Maxi Rodriguez sails well above the goal of Asmir Begović. It was the best look that the favorites have had in quite some time. They are back on the ball in Bosnian territory.
30'
Argentina are indeed winning the match, but their offense has looked rather stagnant. So far, Bosnia has done a great job keeping their opponent's changes scarce.
27'
It was a decent build up for the Bosnian side but the looping pass in towards Džeko is not good enough. The striker only needs to get a header to have the chance of leveling this match.
25'
Marcos Rojo (Argentina) is shown a yellow card
Yet another whistle and this time Marcos Rojo sees yellow for his challenge on Mensur Mujdžal. It's been a relatively clean match so far.
23'
The goal conceded by Bosnia-Herzegovina was the fasted conceded own goal in World Cup history, they have, indeed marked the pages of this World Cup if a rather dastardly record.
22'
The crown has remained relatively passive during the first half of the opening period. They seem to be simply waiting for some sort of inspired play from either side after the early score.
20'
Now the Argentina have to defend. Bosnia has done well to keep the ball in the opponent's half but Argentina's ability to counter attack is impressive. They win a deep thrown in and restart.
18'
So far Messi has been well contained by his opponents back line but now Argentina seem to have put it in gear. Di Maria is brought down by Senad Lulić along the right flank.
17'
A run from the Bosnians is cut short by the tough back line of Argentina but they are creating chances. That much can be said definitively!
15'
Pjanić can only hit the wall with the free kick but his side are still building. They have done well to keep tempo and control of the match despite being behind. Argentina seem content sitting back for the moment.
14'
Almost equalized by Bosnia-Herzegovina! A great run from Hajrović just misses the ball as it bounces into the box from a lobbed effort. Yet, the pressure isn't off for Argentia from the free kick about 20 yards out.
12'
There's been very little action for either side since the own goal. Zebeleta receives a pass from Messi over the defense but can't corral it in the penalty area and relinquishes control of the ball to his opponents
11'
Argentina building from the back again, there is plenty of support from the back line as they try and approach from the flanks. The crown is solidly behind the Argentines tonight.
10'
Despite the early concession, the Golden Lillies seem to have settled themselves into the match and look comfortable in the midfield. Whether they have enough in them to overcome the goal is left to be seen.
8'
A short corner taken by Bosnia-Herzegovina is easily deflected by Romero but the debutants are still on the ball.
7'
Almost a second goal for the favored side. Messi's corner just misses the shin of Agüero and the much-aligned underdogs regain possession making their way towards the opposition's half. They have a free kick from about thirty yards out and Argentina concede a corner.
6'
The own goal has Bosnia-Herzegovina on their heels early and Kun Agüero has won a corner for his side after tracking down an aerial pass in the penalty area.
4'
That changes the tempo of the the match. Messi shows off some excellent footwork before picking up a foul. There are so many attacking weapons from Argentina, however, and they are back on the ball.
3'
Goooal for Argentina, 1:0 by Sead Kolašinac (own goal)
And a huge mistake by Sead Kolašinac! The set piece floated in by Messie and the ball falls to his left leg and deflected into the net. What a start for the Argentine side!
2'
An early foul by Mujdža on Agüero. Argentina have an early set piece from the left flank.
1'
Argentina start with possession in their own half and seem to be feeling out their competition. Messi looks to have a spring in his step early.
1'
And the final match of the day is underway!
1'
Kick-Off
The two sides with very different football histories are ready to kick off on the pitch. Joel Aguilar and his Salvadoran crew will officiate and we're just about underway in Rio de Janero!
This is the World Cup debut for Bosnia-Herzegovina. They have plenty of work to do to try and make their way into World Cup history. Joining Portugal in 1966 and Croatia in 1998 as debutants who placed third in the tournament. Argentina have held the cup high two times and 2014 looks like a good time for them to succeed a third time.
Perhaps with so much focus given to Messi during the night, a lot will be on Ángel Di María and Kun Agüero. They will set the pace for La Albiceleste and try to press their opponent's back line. But Bosnia-Herzegovina, making their World Cup debut, will do their best to add to Argentina's recent woes against European clubs. In their last nine games, they have drawn four times and lost three. But the previous two match ups have been won by the Argentines.
Across the pitch, Bosnia-Herzegovina will rely on their own talented striker Edin Džeko. The Manchester City Striker has been in and out of the lineup for his club side but will be a focal point of the international team's attack. He will have plenty of help from a steady midfield.
Argentina come into tonight's match with, arguably, the world's best footballer as their number 10. Lionel Messi has the pace and skill to make his mark on any match and can expect to hear his name called often. Emir Spahić will most likely be tasked with taking on the speedy striker. He will have his hands full and history has favored Messi in the matchup when he scored against Spahić when he played for Sevilla.
Welcome back to another day of World Cup football! In just half an hour Argentina and Bosnia-Herzegovina square off in the last match of the evening. The Argentinians come into their opener very much favored to make waves during this year's world cup but their opponents will do their best to stymy those hopes early. It should be an exciting competition to close the first weekend.
