Full-Time The Netherlands win against Chile 2:0 and secure their first place in Group B! In the end it was a deserved win for the side of Louis van Gaal. Chile had more possesssion but couldn't use this to produce real opportunities. Oranje defended very well and used their fast players, especially Arjen Robben, for counterattacks which lacked precision for a long time. So it had to be the two youngster Depay and Fer who were brought on during the second half to decide the match. Fer converted a fine cross by Janmaat for the lead and Depay scored the 2:0 after another fine run by Arjen Robben in injury time. With that win the Dutch will in all likelihood avoid Brazil and will play either against Croatia or Mexico in the next round while Chile has to go the tough route if they want to go to the quarterfinals. But maybe the Chilean are lucky and Brazil lose tonight against Cameroon. The decisive matches in Group A start in less than two hours and we wish you thrilling night with those games!

Goooal for Netherlands, 2:0 by Stefan de Vrij
But it is Memphis Depay who secures the victory for the Netherlands! Chile loses the ball on their right wing and Arjen Robben runs down all the way to the Chilean box. He passes into the run of Depay in the center who is faster than Díaz and brings home the 2:0 with his right foot!
89'
The referee gives Chile three more minutes to turn the game.
89'
A lot of crosses flie in and out the Dutch box. One of them finally finds the head of Alexis Sánchez but his header misses the Dutch goal by a mile.
89'
Substitution (in) Netherlands -> Terence Kongolo
89'
Substitution (out) Netherlands -> Dirk Kuyt
85'
Chile attacks but can't create a clear chance. A long distance shot is deflected and Pinilla receives the rebound. The Chilean attacker is brought down by a defender but stood in an offside position so there's again no penalty.
81'
De Jong almost scores an own goal! The Dutch midfielder heads a Chilean corner from the left site onto his own goal. Luckily for him his teammate Janmaat covers the goalline and stops the ball. During this action Janmaat touches the ball with his arm but no penalty is being given. That is the correct decision because Janmaat's arm was placed close to his torso.
81'
Substitution (in) Chile -> Mauricio Pinilla
81'
Substitution (out) Chile -> Eduardo Vargas
77'
Goooal for Netherlands, 1:0 by Leroy Fer
But Bravo can't get his hands onto the header of Leroy Fer! The corner after the shot by Depay is played shortly to Daryl Janmaat. The full-back delivers a fantastic cross and just at the edge of the six-yard-box it is Fer who is unmarked and has no problems to score the 1:0 for the Netherlands!
76'
Nice shot by Memphis Depay! The yougster receives the ball 30 meters away from the goal and doesn't need a lot of time to fire a shot at the Chilean goal. But Claudio Bravo gets his hands onto the ball and punches it over the crossbar.
76'
And on the other site bondscoach Louis van Gaal brings on Leroy Fer for Wesley Sneijder. Fer thinks a little bit more about the defense than Sneijder does.
75'
Substitution (in) Netherlands -> Leroy Fer
75'
Substitution (out) Netherlands -> Wesley Sneijder
71'
Jorge Sampaoli enforces his offensive. The midfielder Jorge Valdivia replaces full-back Francisco Silva.
70'
Substitution (in) Chile -> Jorge Valdivia
70'
Substitution (out) Chile -> Francisco Silva
69'
Substitution (in) Netherlands -> Memphis Depay
69'
Substitution (out) Netherlands -> Jeremain Lens
66'
On the other it is Arjen Robben who forces Claudio Bravo to make his first save of the game. The Dutch attacker finds somehow a gap between the six Chilean leg but no gap between the hands of keeper Bravo.
65'
Jasper Cillessen is getting busier! Alexis Sánchez nutmegs Jeremain Lens who tries to help his teammates in the defense but fails to do so on the right site. Sánchez enters the box but his shot from a tight angel is no problem for Cillessen who covers his line well.
64'
Daley Blind (Netherlands) is shown a yellow card
Finally, Bakary Gassama has enough and books Blind for his next foul.
62'
Tight decision in the Dutch Box! Daley Blind underestimates a long ball and Alexis Sánchez enters the box on the right site. Jasper Cillessen leaves his goal and is lucky that he touches the ball slightly with his left hand. Otherwise it would have been a penalty because in doing so he tackles Sánchez to the ground.
61'
We have seen better crosses by Arjen Robben than his freekick from the right wing he just delivered. The ball is headed out of the box and the following shot by Sneijder 20 meters away from goal is blocked.
57'
On the other site Alexis Sánchez is less hesitant and tries to find the back of the net with a long-distance shot. But he only hits his own supporters on the tribune and not the goal of keeper Cillessen.
54'
Again Oranje misses the right opportunity to go for a goal. Wesley Sneijder finds some space 25 meters away from goal but instead of shooting he passes to Jeremain Lens in the box. But the forward is marked closely so his pass to Sneijder who ran into the box himself ends up in no-man's-land.
50'
Daley Blind is lucky that he hasn't been booked so far. Alexis Sánchez is furios that the third or fourth foul by Blind is still no reason for referee Gassama to brandish the yellow card.
48'
Jorge Sampaoli made the first substition during the break. Felipe Gutiérrez is replaced by Jean Beausejour. Maybe he has some ideas to crack the Dutch defense.
46'
The second half is underway and after 30 seconds it is oldie Dirk Kuyt with the first dangerous action. But his fine cross from the left wing is headed away at the last moment.
46'
Substitution (in) Chile -> Jean Beausejour
46'
Substitution (out) Chile -> Felipe Gutiérrez
46'
Second Half begins
45'
Half-Time No goals between the Netherlands and Chile in the final match of Group B in the first 45 minutes. Chile controlled the ball most of the time but hardly found a way past the massive Dutch defense. No surprise that the two best chances for Chile resulted from set pieces. The netherlands are defending well but lacked the last precision during their few counterattacks. Only one counterattack was a real danger for keeper Claudio Bravo but Arjen Robben missed the goal after a fantastic run in the 39th. At the moment the Netherlands would win the group but everything's still possible in the second half!
43'
Chile with the answer! Marcelo Díaz with a fine freekick from way outside the box. He finds the head of Felipe Gutiérrez who is completly unmarked at the penalty spot. He tries to send the ball into the top corner but can't succeed.
39'
Great run by Arjen Robben! Wesley Sneijder wins the ball for the Dutch in his own half and passes it to Robben. The Dutch attacker picks up speed. Charles Aránguiz can't follow him and Gary Medel only sees a orange flash passing by. Robben's sprint ends on the edge of the box with a shot which is just wide of the left post.
35'
Stefan de Vrij almost scores the 1:0 Arjen Robben is fouled on the right wing and delivers a nice freekick. On the far post it is full-back de Vrij who jumps higher than all the sourrounding defenders but his header misses the post by inches.
33'
A good opportunity for a counterattack is spoiled by a bad pass from Arjen Robben. The player from Bayern Munich profits from a mistake in the Chilean build-up and dribbles almost into the box. He tries to find Daryl Janmaat on the right wing but his pass is blocked.
29'
Both defensive lines are still giving the attackers a hard time. The Chilean offense can't find enough spaces in the wall of orange jerseys and the counterattacks by Holland are equally good defended by Chile.
26'
The following freekick from 30 meters away from goal is taken by Wesley Sneijder. He aims directly at the goal but his shot is no problem for keeper Bravo.
25'
Francisco Silva (Chile) is shown a yellow card
The Chilean defender is slower as Jeremain Lens who chases a long ball. Silva trips the attacker and Bakary Gassama does well booking the defender.
22'
Chile with the first big opportunity after the first corner of the game! The Dutch defenders expect a high cross but instead Alexis Sánchez plays a low pass in the back of the box. Felipe Gutiérrez receives the ball but his shot from 12 meters misses the goal by one meter.
17'
Arjen Robben shows his sprinting skills chasing a long pass. Robben is clearly faster than defender Gary Medel but still can't reach the ball which crosses the goalline without being touched.
16'
Next problem on the right site for Oranje! Charles Aránguiz receives a lovely ball on the left side of the box. But luckily for the Netherlands his pass into the center is harmless and cleared by Ron Vlaar.
13'
For the first time Chile gets the ball into the Dutch box. Daryl Janmaat can't block a cross from the left Chilean wing but Alexis Sánchez's heeader only finds the tribune behind the Dutch goal.
11'
Arjen Robben is brought down 40 meters away from the goal and delivers the following freekick into the Chilean box. But the cross is headed away by the defense.
10'
Chile are controlling the game and have a lot of possession. But so far they couldn't create any dangerous situation for the Dutch keeper Jasper Cillessen.
7'
It really does seem that Dirk Kuyt is playing as a left full-back today. It's the first time that the 33-year old Kuyt occupies this position. But Loius van Gaal seems to trust in Kuyts abilities to handle the strong Mauricio Isla on Chile's right wing.
3'
Intense duels in the midfield during the first minutes of the match. Chile sets the tone by attacking the Dutch topscorer Arjen Robben early on.
1'
The game is underway! The Dutch are wearing their familiar orange jerseys. Chile is dressed all in white.

Kick-Off
The national anthems have been played and both teams are ready. The opening whistle is only seconds away!
The referee today is the Gambian Bakary Gassama. It is his first game for him at the World Cup 2014. He is assisted by the Evarist Menkouande  and Felicien Kabanda.
The complete lineups can be found here
Chile's coach Jorge Sampaoli stays with his 5-3-2 system and makes only one change. Arturo Vidal is replaced by Felipe Gutiérrez. With that substition Sampaoli wants to give his most important player a rest and also he wants to avoid a second booking of Vidal which would cause him to miss the next match. Left full-back Eugenio Mena faces the same thread but is in the starting eleven just as Charles Aránguiz who suffered an injury against Spain but can participate today.
Against the aggressive and psysical strong side of Australia the Dutch had their problems. But maybe it was a good test for the game today and bondscoach Louis van Gaal found a way to adjust his tactic. He has to change his starting eleven anyway. Robin van Persie who scored three goals so far is suspended because he saw his second yellow card against Australia. He is replaced by Jeremain Lens. Defender Bruno Martins Indi suffered a brain concussion and is replaced by midfielder Dirk Kuyt. If Louis van Gaal stays with his 5-3-2 system Kuyt will play as a left full-back and Daley Blind as one of three center-backs. But a 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 with Kuyt in the midfield and Blind as a left full-back is also possible.
But against the very good organized and aggressive side of coach Jorge Sampaoli it will be a though challenge for the Dutch players. In the first two games Chile attacked their opponents early in their build-up and forced them to make mistakes. Fast players who know how to score like Eduardo Vargas then finished the counterattacks. It will be interesting to see if the Dutch can handle the pressure put on by Chile.
Today's game is not only about prestige but is a decisive point of the World Cup for both teams. Who ever wins the group will almost certainly avoid the home side Brazil and could have a much easier way into the quarter- or even semifinals. Both teams have six points after their wins against Spain and Australia but the Dutch side has a better goal difference. Therefore Chile needs a win today, a draw would be enough for Oranje to win the group.
It's the game between those teams who sent home the reigning European and World Champion Spain. The Netherlands started the destruction of the tiki taka with their blasting 5:1 victory in their first game, Chile finished the Spanish supremacy with their 2:0 win last Wednesday. Now it's time for both teams to show their skills in a direct duel!
Commentating for you is Maximilian Rieger. Have fun!
Welcome to duel of two of the best teams so far at the World Cup 2014! The Netherlands are fighting Chile in São Paulo for the win in Group B which is probably crucial to avoid Brazil in the next round!
