Fulltime Summary:
In the end, Bosnia and Herzegovina win quite easily despite being the one team that was already eliminated before the game. Iran didn't present themselves like a team that wants to use this rare opportunity to proceed to the last sixteen, otherwise they maybe could've achieved more. Though the Dragons took over control from the beginning, they couldn't create enough pressure in the first 20 minutes. Shortly after, Džeko scored the leading goal, which was almost followed by the immediate equalizer - but the crossbar prevented this from happening. For a short period, Team Melli were able to put some pressure on their opposition's defense, but couldn't create further chances. After play resumed, it took Safet Sušić's team only a quarter hour to increase their lead, making it even more unlikely for Iran to win. And in fact the Golden Lilies had a walk-over until Ghoochannejhad scored his team's first goal in this world cup. But the European's third goal came on the heels of the 2-1, restoring the old deficit. Both teams are going to head home after this, with Bosnia and Herzegovina finishing third and Iran coming fourth in their group.

Full-Time
90'
The referee adds three minutes of stoppage time, though this surely won't change anything anymore.
87'
Karim Ansarifard (Iran) is shown a yellow card
Ansarifard demands a penalty although it clearly wasn't a foul. Still, the Iranian number tean can't behave himself and is therefore rightfully booked.
84'
Substitution (in) Bosnia-Herzegovina -> Edin Višća
84'
Substitution (out) Bosnia-Herzegovina -> Edin Džeko
83'
Goooal for Bosnia-Herzegovina, 3:1 by Avdija Vršajević
Bosnia and Herzegovina find a direct answer! The start a fast counterattack, with Pjanić sending Vršajević forward with a nice pass from the centre circle. Inside the box the right back could play a crossfield pass to Ibišević, but rather scores himself with a shot onto the bottom rear corner.
82'
Goooal for Iran, 2:1 by Reza Ghoochannejhad
Iran score their first goal in this world cup! Ansarifard can break through on the left wing and sends in a long cross. The ball is deflected by a Bosnian player and bounces off to Nekounam, who immediately plays a lateral pass to Ghoochannejhad, who finds himself completely alone at the right post. Therefore he has no difficulties in scoring from that short distance.
79'
Tino-Sven Sušić is replaced by Hoffenheim midfielder Salihović. Maybe the left-footed player can generate some danger with a set piece.
79'
Substitution (in) Bosnia-Herzegovina -> Sejad Salihović
79'
Substitution (out) Bosnia-Herzegovina -> Tino-Sven Sušić
77'
Muhamed Bešić (Bosnia-Herzegovina) is shown a yellow card
Montazeri has the ball on the right hand side and is fouled by Bešić. The 21-year-old rushes into his opponent with full speed, so this uncatious challenge is worth a booking, though he pulls in his outstretched leg upon impact.
76'
This game doesn't offer any highlights in this stage. Bosnia and Herzegovina have a corner from the right and Pjanić swings it in. But his cross is immediately cleared away.
73'
The Dragons make a quite confident impression now, keeping the ball and pressuring Iran back into their half. Sušić's team have to ask themselves: Why they didn't perform this way before?
70'
Iran's offensive efforts are just too harmless! The try to break through on the right wing, but eventually the Bosnians can regain possession.
68'
That's kind of strange. Carlos Queiroz takes Dejagah off, who - if you will - is Iran's star and most talented player. The Fulham forward doesn't seem to be happy with this decision, too, as he goes off the pitch with a rather ferocious look. He then is replaced by Ansarifard.
68'
Substitution (in) Iran -> Karim Ansarifard
68'
Substitution (out) Iran -> Ashkan Dejagah
66'
What a great reflex by Haghighi! Kolasinac sends in a tricky low cross and it directly goes onto the bottom left corner. But the Iranian goalie reacts quickly and saves the ball for a corner, which comes to nothing.
63'
Carlos Queiroz also wants to influence the game by changing another player: Hajsafi goes off and Jahanbakhsh comes on the pitch instead.
63'
Substitution (in) Iran -> Alireza Jahanbakhsh
63'
Substitution (out) Iran -> Ehsan Hajsafi
61'
Safet Sušić makes his first substitution and replaces Hadžić with Vranjes.
61'
Substitution (in) Bosnia-Herzegovina -> Ognjen Vranješ
61'
Substitution (out) Bosnia-Herzegovina -> Anel Hadžić
59'
Goooal for Bosnia-Herzegovina, 2:0 by Miralem Pjanić
The Dragons increase thir lead! But it looks like the goal scorer is offside! After Hosseini loses the ball in his team's own half, Džeko quickly passes the ball to Sušićm, who's standing at the edge of the penalty area. The 22-year-old finds Pjanić with a diagonal pass onto the left channel of the box, but the AS Rome midfielder starts just one splitsecond to soon and should be ruled offside. But it's such a close call, that you can't expect a human eye to see it, so you can't really blame the assistant referee. Pjanić finishes with a low shot into the right corner of the goal.
58'
Will Iran manage to score a goal in this tournament? So far they still haven't done so yet.
55'
Well, at least they're trying! Pooladi sens in a long cross into the box from the left hand side, but Dejagah is offside.
53'
By the way, Argentina just scored the 3-2 lead, so Iran still have a chance to finish second. But they would've to score for this to happen...
51'
For the moment, the Iranians are able to pressure their opposition into the box and simultaneously maintain the ball. Then again, the following cross is an easy catch for Begović.
48'
Bosnia and Hezregovina have a free kick after Ghoochannejhad's illegal challenge against Šunjić. Subconsequently the ball is played forward and eventually finds Pjanić. The AS Rome midfielder has an effort from about 25 metres, but it goes off target.
46'
The second half is underay and Iran make their first player change: Striker Shojaei is replaced by full back Heydari. This means that Dejagah will act as central striker now, while Heydari could act as winger.
46'
Substitution (in) Iran -> Khosro Heydari
46'
Substitution (out) Iran -> Masoud Shojaei

Halftime Summary:
The game started at a really low pace, making the first 20 minutes pretty uninteresting to watch. Although Džeko had two efforts in the beginning, Bosnia failed to pressure Iran more into their half. But after 23 minutes the Manchester City striker succeeded in scoring the lead with a long range attempt. That was kind of a wake-up call for Team Melli, since Iran could've found a quick answer by equalizing only two minutes later. It was the crossbar and their own failure, which prevented this from happening. Still, the Iranians managed to get near or into the box more often, without creating further chances. While the Golden Lilies failed to be more dominant against an all-out-defense opponent, Iran could've done more to score. After all, Argentinia's is leading against Nigeria, so Iran would need two goals to win and enter the next round.

Half-Time
45'
That's a really harmless effort! Dejagah swings in a free kick from the left, but it's an easy catch for Begović.
43'
Well at least now he has his first attempt! Ibišević takes a right-footed shot from about 22 metres and though he's aiming for the right corner of the goal, it goes wide.
41'
This could've worked better! Džeko sends Vršajević onto the right wing with a long low pass. The Right back tries to find Ibišević with a lateral pass, but it's just not precise enough and goes past the rear post.
38'
While the Dragons have another free kick, following Teymourian's foul, Spahić comes back on the pitch.
36'
That's what you call kicking someone's butt! After an unsuccessful challenge to win the ball, Ghoochannejhad - assuming he does this unintentionally - kicks Spahić's rear and the Bosnian captain needs medical attendance.
33'
Right now the Iranian's are more active than the Golden Lilies, trying to score the equalizer. At least this makes the game more interesting!
31'
The Iranians more and more are finding their way to get into the box! It again all starts with a cross from the right wing, but after the ball is helped on with a header, Ghoochannejhad is ruled offside.
29'
Šunjić doesn't have to be substituted and comes back on the pitch.
27'
That doesn't look good! Šunjić and Bešić collide with each other and the former seems to have great pain in his knee. Hopefully, Šunjić can continue to play.
25'
Iran almost score the equalizer! Or maybe one should say: Why haven't they? After a nice cross from the right, Shojaei shoots with a volley effort from about six metres, but fails to convert. Instead, his shot hits the bar! Ghoochannejhad tries to get the rebound into the goal from the left corner of the six-yard-box, but his effort is too weak and saved by Begović.
23'
Goooal for Bosnia-Herzegovina, 1:0 by Edin Džeko
Džeko has his third chance and this time it's in! The Manchester City forward takes a low long range shot from about 20 metres. The ball bounces off the right post and into the back of the net.
20'
Of course, the match doesn't offer much spectacle since this way. Still, the game more and more is shifting into the Iranian half.
17'
So far the Iranians manage to keep their opposition from invading their penalty area. As in their match against Argentinia, Team Melli are defending really well.
15'
Team Melli almost can create danger for the first time! They start a counter-attack coming from a free-kick in their own half and finally the ball is crossed from the right hand side. But it only hits Shojaei and bounces off.
12'
Ouch! After Pouladi commits a foul on the right defending side, the Dragons have a free-kick from the left wing. Pjanić tries to shoot it onto the goal from there, but only his Shojaei's chest in the wall. THe Iranian needs medical attendance, it seems like he's gasping for breath.
9'
Alireza Haghighi makes a save! Kolasinac's cross from the left finds Džeko, who fires a nice header onto the top left corner of the goal. But the the Iranian keeper manages to catch the ball.
7'
Unsurprisingly, Carlos Queirozes team tries to defend well first, pressuring the opposition's defense and not to leave any gaps in their own one.
4'
Šunjić makes the following corner, but his cross ijust isn't good enough. The Iranians manage to clear immediately.
3'
Džeko has the first chance for his team! The Manchester City striker takes a shot from about 18 metres, but his effort is deflected and goes over the bar and onto the stance.

Kick-Off
Iran's midfielder Ashkan Dejagah, who plays for Fulham FC, underlined that his team "still have a chance to go through and who would have thought our World Cup would last longer than England and Spain. We had such a bad feeling after the match against Argentina because of the way it ended. We tried to make it tough for them and with a little bit of luck we would have won this game or even got a draw. I hope we have showed the world that Iran can play football."
Still, Sušić still seems to be coping with the elimination, since he said: "We're facing a dead rubber, we're sorry because we could have gone through if we'd had more luck, played better and if referees had taken more logical decisions. If we get a result, people will come to realise that had we had more luck or fairer refereeing decisions, this team could have progressed."
The Bosnians head coach also stated that he will will reveal whether he'll continue his job or resign after this match.
Safet Sušić, the Golden Lilies' team manager, said his team wants to present themselves in a better condition before heading home: "We're going into this with a deep desire to finish in an honourable way and earn some redemption for our defeats. We were expecting this to be our key match for the round of 16, but things haven't panned out how we wanted. It's important to bid farewell to the World Cup in a nice manner."
The Iranians would have to win this match and simultaneously hope for Argentinia to beat Nigeria. Since the Team Melli drawed against the Super Eagles, both teams would have four points in that scenario.
Though it is their first world cup, many spectators expected the Bosnians to proceed to the next round, However, due to losing their first two games, the Dragons are already eliminated, while Iran - a typical underdog - still has the chance for an upset.
Azad Derakhshani will provide the live commentary.
