Boateng returns for Scotland Euro qualifier

Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng will make his Germany comeback against Scotland in a Euro 2016 Group D qualifier in Dortmund on Sunday.

Boateng missed Wednesday's humbling 4-2 friendly home defeat to Argentina due to inflammation in his knee.

"Jerome doesn't feel any more pain and will no doubt return," said Germany's goalkeeping coach Andreas Kopke on Friday.

"We expect him to be in the starting line-up on Sunday."

Boateng should line up alongside Dominik Hoewedes in central defence after Kevin Grosskreutz and Erik Durm were run a merry dance by man-of-the-match Angel di Maria and his teammates on Wednesday.

Germany coach Joachim Loew will nonetheless have to make do once again without the services of Mesut Ozil, Sami Khedira and Mats Hummels, as well as forward Julian Draxler, who came off in the first half against Argentina due to injury.
