Legia Warsaw awarded win after Europa League trouble

UEFA have awarded Polish side Legia Warsaw a 3-0 win in their Europa League third qualifying round, first-leg tie against Kukes after trouble marred last week's match in Albania.

The match last Thursday was abandoned with Legia leading 2-1 after the visitors' Slovakian midfielder Ondrej Duda appeared to be struck in the head by a stone thrown from the stands.

Legia said that Duda was left with "a one-inch hole" in his head, although he was back on his feet again a few minutes after the incident.

Kukes were also ordered to play their next two European home games behind closed doors and were fined 70,000 euros ($76,793, £49,268) for the setting off of fireworks and throwing of objects, crowd disturbances and the displaying of an illicit banner.

The second leg will go ahead as planned on Thursday.
