UEFA president Michel Platini on Friday insisted a payment he received from FIFA, which is at the centre of legal proceedings launched against FIFA president Sepp Blatter, was for contractual work.
Swiss prosecutors are investigating whether a two million dollar payment from world football governing body chief Blatter to the French legend was illegal.
"Concerning the payment that was effected in my favour, I want to clarify that this amount was paid for work that I carried out in a contractual manner for FIFA," European football boss Platini said in a statement.
"I am pleased to have been able to clarify this point with the authorities."
