Moroccan-Dutch midfielder Yassin Ayoub has signed a 3.5-year deal with Panathinaikos, the Greek Super League club said Wednesday, despite the 25-year-old admitting he's "not the best player in the world".

Ayoub, who played the last two seasons for Dutch side Feyenoord, was also on the books of Utrecht from 2012 to 2018 where he scored 19 goals.

He admitted that he is "not the best player in the world but I consider myself a smart player.

"When the defences are closed and the match looks locked up, I know how to unlock it. My philosophy for football is exactly this -- to find solutions."
