France international goalkeeper Steve Mandanda was taken to hospital for tests after suffering a head injury during Marseille's home match against Guingamp on Saturday, his Ligue 1 club said.

Mandanda, who has been named in coach Didier Deschamps' 23-man squad for the 2014 World Cup finals, was stretchered off during the first half of Marseille's final game of the Ligue 1 season after he was caught by the knee of Guingamp striker Mustapha Yatabare at the Stade Velodrome.

After Marseille's medical staff treated the stricken goalkeeper, he was then "taken in an ambulance towards Timone hospital to undergo a scan and an MRI," the club said.

According to a post from Marseille's official Twitter account, Mandanda was suffering from "dizziness and neck pain". He was replaced in goal by Brice Samba.

Mandanda, 29, is France's second-choice goalkeeper and has been listed among Deschamps's squad for the World Cup finals which start on June 12 in Brazil.
