Leicester swoop for Poland winger Kapustka

Premier League champions Leicester City signed teenage winger Bartosz Kapustka from Polish club Cracovia for a reported £7.5 million ($10 million, 8.9 million euros) on Wednesday.

Kapustka agreed a five-year contract with Leicester after catching the eye of Foxes boss Claudio Ranieri with his international performances for Poland over the last year.

The 19-year-old has linked up with his new teammates in Stockholm ahead of Leicester's International Champions Cup friendly against Barcelona on Wednesday.

"Leicester City Football Club is delighted to confirm the signing of Poland winger Bartosz Kapustka, subject to FA, Premier League and international clearance," read a statement on Leicester's website.

Kapustka made more than 60 appearances for Cracovia, with his impressive form leading to a debut for Poland in September 2015.

He was part of Poland's Euro 2016 campaign and gave an outstanding display in their victory over Northern Ireland.

As Leicester gear up for their title defence, Kapustka is Ranieri's fifth signing of the transfer window following the arrivals of Luis Hernandez, Ron-Robert Zieler, Nampalys Mendy and Ahmed Musa.
