Football: Agger, Henderson return for Liverpool finale

Daniel Agger and Jordan Henderson returned to Liverpool's starting line-up against Newcastle on Sunday as the Reds prepared for their final chance to snatch the Premier League title.

Danish centre-back Agger, making his first start since a win over Tottenham in late March, was restored to the heart of Liverpool's defence in place of Mamadou Sakho, who was dropped following a shaky display in Monday's 3-3 draw at Crystal Palace.

Henderson was back after a three-match suspension for his red card against Manchester City and the England midfielder replaced Brazilian international Lucas.

Brendan Rodgers' second placed side go into the last day of the season trailing leaders Manchester City by two points and, barring a mathematical miracle to overhaul the leaders' vastly superior goal difference, they can only win the title if a victory over Newcastle at Anfield is combined with defeat for Manuel Pellegrini's men at home to West Ham.
