Spurs duo say anti-Cellino video a hoax

Tottenham Hotspur duo Harry Kane and Dele Alli said Thursday that a video showing four Premier League players calling for Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino to quit the club was a hoax.

A section of fans at the second-tier Yorkshire side are desperate for the controversial Italian to sell the club.

The account @WhiteLeedsSite, features Kane and Alli, as well as Arsenal's Mesut Ozil and Jack Wilshere all saying "Time to go Massimo", although there is no evidence they are aware of the context.

But Alli, in a statement on his official Twitter feed, said: "It was a hoax. Disgusting the lengths people will go to get a video they can change the context of."

Meanwhile Kane said: "It was a hoax. Disgraceful the lengths people go to get a video they can change the context of like this."

Cellino's two years as owner of Championship club Leeds, once one of English football's leading teams, has featured six coaches and he is now appealing against a second Football League disqualification for tax evasion.

Meanwhile The Time To Go Massimo fans' group insisted the video had nothing to do with them, saying in a statement: "While we obviously like and are amused by the content of the video, after we discovered it was acquired by dishonest means, we cannot condone the actions of 'WhiteLeedsSite' however admirable the intentions."
