On-loan Barcelona starlet Gerard Deulofeu looks set for a spell on the sidelines after injuring his hamstring during Everton's 4-1 win over Fulham on Saturday.

The 19-year-old forward, who scored a late equaliser in a 1-1 draw at Arsenal last weekend, had to go off in the 63rd minute of the game at Goodison Park, which saw Everton climb to fourth place in the Premier League.

"It doesn't look great," said Everton manager Roberto Martinez. "It's a soft tissue injury. He pulled his hamstring.

"We will do the scan straight away. He felt it and we will assess it. He is like a sprinter and the hamstrings are exposed in those sort of injuries."

Deulofeu, a Spain Under-21 international, is on a season-long loan from Barcelona and Martinez revealed earlier this week that Everton may look to extend the deal for an additional season.
