Greek champions Olympiakos said on Tuesday they had not concluded a deal for their star striker Kostas Mitroglou to move to English Premier League strugglers Fulham.

British and Italian media reported earlier on Tuesday that Fulham was close to a deal for the 25-year-old player which would see him move for 14 million euros ($19.1million) on a four-year-deal that would see the player earn 10 million euros.

Greek media reported that Mitroglou is keen on joining Greece international teammate Giorgos Karagounis at Fulham.

"There is still no definitive agreement with Fulham for Kostas Mitroglou. Discussions will continue Wednesday but only for an agreement of more than 15 million euros," the club informed the Greek media.

Last month Mitroglou extended his contract until the summer of 2017 with the Greek champions.

Mitroglou, the leading scorer in the Greek Super League with 14 goals in 11 matches, is recovering from a meniscus injury he suffered in November in the Champions League match with Paris Saint-Germain but is expected to be in action again this week.

The new contract for Mitroglou included a clause saying he can leave for a minimum 8 million euros but that Olympiakos has the final say.

Mitroglou, whose goals have also helped Greece qualify for this June's World Cup finals in Brazil, has been linked with leading sides around Europe, including Fulham, Liverpool and West Ham.

Although Olympiakos did not release details of the contract, sources close to the club said the player would be receiving an annual salary of 1.3 million euros, double his previous wages.

In addition, it was learned that Mitroglou would get hefty bonuses should the team advance in the Champions League and win another domestic title boosting his yearly earnings to 1.8 million euros.

Mitroglou, who was born in the northern Greek town of Kavala but grew up in Germany where his parents had emigrated to find work, has scored four hat tricks this season, three in the domestic Super League where Olympiakos continues to dominate and one at Anderlecht in the Champions League.

Mitroglou also all but singlehandedly secured Greece's place in the World Cup finals as he scored three goals in the two-leg 2014 World Cup play-off against Romania which saw the Greeks qualify.

He began his career with the second team of German side Borussia Monchengladbach where he played in 33 matches scoring 14 goals during the 2006-2007 season.

Olympiakos signed him in 2007 and he has rewarded them with 41 goals in 84 matches while he has netted eight times in 28 international appearances since making his debut in 2009.
