Costil replaces Lloris for France friendlies

France coach Didier Deschamps on Friday named Benoit Costil in his 23-man squad for upcoming friendlies against Brazil and Denmark in place of injured Hugo Lloris.

Tottenham's Lloris had to go off after sustaining a serious-looking gash to his right leg following an early collision with team-mate Kyle Walker in Saturday's 4-3 Premier League win over Leicester.

The medical team took two minutes to strap up the France international's leg and Lloris received a standing ovation from the crowd as he was stretchered from the field.

"He's in hospital and we're waiting for news," Tottenham coach Mauricio Pochettino said. "We're hoping that there's no serious ligament damage."

France play Brazil on March 26 at the Stade de France in Paris and Denmark three days later in St-Etienne.
