AC Milan striker M'Baye Niang admitted he had endured a "complicated" week in the wake of the terror attacks that rocked Paris last week.

Niang was one of four French players in the spotlight at Juventus Stadium on Saturday as grounds across Italy responded to the terror attacks by displaying the French flag and playing La Marseillaise, France's national anthem, before every Serie A game this weekend.

Niang admitted hearing the Marseillaise was "a pleasure" but, with many family members still living in and around Paris, he was far from relaxed.

"It was a complicated week, as you can imagine," Niang told AFP.

"I still have all my family in Paris so I was still a little bit fearful.

"But, we had today's match and I knew I had to stay focused to perform as well as possible."

As players lined up before kick-off, the faces of Niang, teammate Philippe Mexes and Juventus pair Patrice Evra and Paul Pogba were shown on big screens.

Fans around the stadium stood and applauded as the Marseillaise rang out, and Niang added: "We're in Italy, so see all the support there is for France was a pleasure."

A 66th minute strike from Juventus forward Paulo Dybala was enough to see the hosts claim a 1-0 win to move the champions up to sixth place, one place ahead of Milan and six behind leaders Fiorentina ahead of the rest of the weekend fixtures.
