Stuttgart bring Grosskreutz back to Bundesliga

German international winger Kevin Grosskreutz has returned to the Bundesliga, joining VfB Stuttgart after an unhappy stint in Turkey with Galatasaray.

Stuttgart announced the signing of the 27-year-old former Borussia Dortmund player from their winter training camp in the Turkish resort of Belek.

"The Bundesliga is one of the strongest leagues in the world along with the Premier League. I can't wait to get stuck in and help VfB reach their objectives," said Grosskreutz, who can also play as a full-back.

Grosskreutz, an unused squad member when Germany won the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, has signed a contract until June 2018 with Stuttgart, who lie 15th in the Bundesliga table.

The transfer ends a disappointing spell in Turkey, when an administrative hold-up meant he was prevented from playing for Galatasaray by FIFA before January 1.

He is Stuttgart's second January signing following the arrival of Ukraine forward Artem Kravets from Dynamo Kiev.
