Late goals by Uruguayan pair Jose Maria Gimenez and Diego Godin gave Atletico Madrid a 2-0 victory over Juventus in the first leg of Wednesday's Champions League last-16 tie in Spain.

Antoine Griezmann hit the bar and Alvaro Morata had a goal ruled out by VAR before Gimenez turned home a corner on 78 minutes and Godin added a second five minutes later to put Atletico in command ahead of the return in Turin on March 12.
