Brazil midfielder Walace signs for Udinese

Brazilian international defensive midfielder Walace Souza Silva has moved to Udinese from German side Hanover, the Serie A club announced on Monday.

The 24-year-old has agreed a five-year deal with the Udinese after spells with Hamburg and Hanover in the Bundesliga.

Technical manager Pierpaolo Marino described Walace as "an important reinforcement" who would "give the right tactical balance to the whole team".

Walace started his career at Gremio before moving to Germany in 2017, playing a season with Hamburg before moving to Hanover, who were relegated in May.

Capped five times for Brazil, he played in the 2016 Copa America and won gold in the Rio Olympic Games the same year.

Udinese finished 12th in Serie A last season.
