Germany playmaker Marozsan to miss Women's Euro 2022 finals

Germany midfielder Dzsenifer Marozsan will miss the Women's European Championship in July and this month's Champions League final with her club Lyon after rupturing knee ligaments, the German Football Association said Friday.

The 30-year-old playmaker underwent surgery on her right knee earlier this week.

She is expected to be out for six months.

Marozsan suffered the injury during a World Cup qualifying defeat against Serbia last month.

She has made 111 appearances for Germany, but will miss the Euro 2022 finals in England from July 6-31.

Marozsan is also out of the Women's Champions League final against holders Barcelona on May 21 in Turin.
