Bale back in training ahead of Liverpool visit

European champions Real Madrid were handed a boost ahead of their Champions League clash with Liverpool in midweek as Gareth Bale returned to training on Sunday.

The Welshman has missed Real's last five games with a pelvic muscle injury.

The La Liga leaders haven't missed his presence, though, as they have won all five matches, scoring 19 goals in the process.

However, Real boss Carlo Ancelotti played down suggestions Bale will find it difficult to regain his place in the side.

"Everyone thinks that Bale is a problem, but I think he is a player that will help us to be even better," said the Italian.

Victory over a struggling Liverpool side will guarantee Real's place in the last-16 and right-back Dani Carvajal is Ancelotti's only injury doubt after limping off during the 4-0 win over Granada on Saturday.
