Endgame Summary:
What a second half! Borussia Dortmund have seen their lead from the first leg hold up after a vicious flurry from Real Madrid. The 2:0 victory was totally deserved for the home side but they could not see their efforts bring them further than the semi-finals. Dortmund fans will be disappointed from the outing from their side as they were unable to put the game out of reach until the final whistle but the efforts of Mats Hummels and Roman Weidenfeller certainly saved the german club from a bitter loss. For the home side it should be taken as a positive that Kaká and Karim Benzema brought such life to the team as soon as they were substituted on but it will still be seen as another short-lived campaign for the spanish side not to reach the Champions League final for yet another year. Borussia Dortmund will celebrate and deservingly so but their performance tonight would not be acceptable in a deciding final and now Mario Götze's health has become a more important factor. But tonight belongs to the german club Borussia Dortmund and they are deservingly going to compete for a Champions League finale. What a game and what an effort from both sides!

That's the final whistle! Dortmund have survived!
90'
Madrid is still pushing with little more than a minute left for the home side. The fans have continued to support them but time is running out!
90'
Truly a dangerous header from Ramos from the corner. The shot is well paced but skids by the left goal post to the joy of Roman Weidenfeller.
90'
Real will have its first chance from the corner.
90'
Substitution (in) Borussia Dortmund -> Felipe Santana
90'
Substitution (out) Borussia Dortmund -> Sven Bender
90'
Five minutes left to play!
90'
Sven Bender has been lying on the ground for a few minutes. The stoppage time will have to be enough for Madrid to make at least a few more efforts on goal. Dortmund had their chances to close out the game but now they have to be very careful not to see themselves out of the final.
88'
Goooal for Real Madrid, 2:0 by Sergio Ramos
This cannot be! The spanish side have found their way back. After a deflection, Benzema gathers the ball in the right side of the box, he finds Ramos standing wide open in the middle of the box and the midfielder drives the ball home with his left foot into the top roofing of the net.
87'
Substitution (in) Borussia Dortmund -> Sebastian Kehl
87'
Substitution (out) Borussia Dortmund -> Robert Lewandowski
86'
It will be a tense few minutes for Dortmund fans. They cannot have forgotten about their victory against Malaga in which they saw two goals in stoppage.
85'
Madrid have come back to life thanks to the effort from Benzema! They may not find the inspiration to score twice but they are certainly seeing chances.
83'
Roman Weidenfeller (Borussia Dortmund) is shown a yellow card
The keeper tries to hold on to possession longer than is allowed. He must see yellow.
82'
Goooal for Real Madrid, 1:0 by Karim Benzema
It took much longer than any spanish club would have wanted but they have finally seen their goal! Kaká plays on to Mesut Özil running along the right side of the box and Özil slices a low paced pass into the middle. Benzema does the rest for his team and now their is life for spaniards.
82'
Reus's cross comes to nothing but the away club don't really need to do much except watch the clock tick down.
81'
Sami Khedira (Real Madrid) is shown a yellow card
81'
The german side will have another opportunity from the corner.
79'
Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid) is shown a yellow card
78'
The fans are furious. They wanted to see a handball called against the german side. It probably should have been blown against Mats Hummels. Now Dortmund have a free kick on the other end.
76'
Once again Dortmund fail to get their away goal and once again it is Robert Lewandowski missing an opportunity, this time his shot takes a deflection off a spanish defender.
74'
The task was just too much for Real Madrid. They will be kicking themselves for their terrible showing in Germany and will have to be content with a semi-final finish on the season.
72'
Yet another chance this time from Kaká! Di María's cross finds just enough space and the brilliant skill of Kaká manages to click his heels on the ball. The shot whizzes by Dortmunds right goal post.
70'
Ronaldo had a chance to bring life to his club! The international from Portugal lifts his shot over Weidenfeller's goal and the frustration instantly shows on his face.
69'
The chances haven't been sparse for the home club. Kaká's latest effort only meets the Dortmund wall and the heads are starting to hang in the Madrid camp.
67'
Substitution (in) Real Madrid -> Sami Khedira
67'
Substitution (out) Real Madrid -> Xabi Alonso
66'
Time is quickly running out for the home club. They will need to see something scored quickly if they want to hold on to the chances of pushing forward. Perhaps they should take a page from Dortmund's Champions league comeback book.
64'
It's truly remarkable that neither team haev seen a goal scored for their side. The chances of Madrid in the first half compounded with Dortmund's second half opportunities have come to nothing thanks to some rather spectacular saves from the goalkeepers.
62'
Diego López has saved any hopes for Real Madrid! A beautiful save against Gündoğan who was found running into the middle of the penalty area for his team. Reus set the play up marvelously but López did his job exceptionally!
59'
No need for reservation from the home side. Mourinho has seen two more offensive players come on in an attempt to find some hope in a darkening Champions League future.
57'
Substitution (in) Real Madrid -> Karim Benzema
57'
Substitution (out) Real Madrid -> Gonzalo Higuaín
57'
Substitution (in) Real Madrid -> Kaká
57'
Substitution (out) Real Madrid -> Fábio Coentrão
56'
Credit has to be given to the Dortmund back line. They have seen a pressuring Madrid side the entire game and have yet to allow a goal for the home team.
53'
Dortmund have been must more effective in the opening phases of this second half. Marco Reus has caused problem for Madrid's defense and as a result the Borussia fans have come to life in Spain.
50'
Great chance for Lewandowski but the crossbar is unkind! The polish international is played forwards by Marco Reus; he takes his time and launches a shot high towards the goal it looks beautiful but clangs against the top cross bar and simply bounces out of bounds. Unfortunate for BVB.
49'
Robert Lewandowski hasn't taken his chance as well as he did in the first match. He receives a pass standing completely free at the top of the penalty area but blasts the ball twenty meters from its target.
47'
An update from the Dortmund cabin, Mario Götze suffered an injury to his left hamstring. If the Dortmund side continue it will be an interesting question of if he can play in the final.
46'
The action continues!

Halftime Summary:
Nothing to truly be astonished by from either club during the first half. Real Madrid came out as expected with plenty of attacks forwards as the club attempted to make their mark on the game very quickly. The spanish club will see the first half as a failure as there were a number of opportunities that simply must be made for a club trying to catch up from such a deficit. Dortmund, although in great position for advancing, will want to see their performance improve in the coming half. Cristiano Ronaldo has had a few chances he could have seen in, but Roman Weidenfeller has simply been excellent for his club. Without his heroics in front of goal the match could easily have seen Madrid with a two goal lead. It will be exciting to see what changes both sides make going into the second half and whether Madrid will be able to bring themselves any closer to the german side. The second half will begin shortly!
45'
End of first half
45'
A scoreless first half comes to the end!
45'
There have been countless chances for Dortmund to counter and all have gone to waste. As much as Dortmund will be satisfied with this first half, a goal will put them securely in the final.
45'
Sven Bender (Borussia Dortmund) is shown a yellow card
Ronaldo's run straight through the defence had to be stopped and Bender brings him down to the sound of a whistle.
45'
Two minutes to be played in the first half.
43'
İlkay Gündoğan (Borussia Dortmund) is shown a yellow card
A tactical foul to slow down Özil's run but he had to see yellow.
42'
Gonzalo Higuaín (Real Madrid) is shown a yellow card
The striker was called for offsides and has words for the official. He sees yellow.
41'
Once again Mats Hummels is there to prevent a run down the right flank from Angel Di María. He has to be pleased with his efforts through the first 40 minutes.
39'
There was plenty of room for Marco Reus on a counter attack had the delivery from Kevin Großkreutz been anywhere within the reach of his run. He cannot chase the ball down and Real continues to attack.
37'
If there is one bright spot for Dortmund in an otherwise rather unevenful match, it is the play of Mats Hummels on the back line. He has not allowed the attacks of Real Madrid to be led without major disturbances.
35'
The first corner for the german side comes after a little more than a half an hour. The effort is cleared away thanks to Ronaldo's excellent header ability but Borussia maintain control of the ball.
32'
Now the away club have found themselves a bit more in the action. They have managed to keep the possession on the spanish club's half for a good chunk of time.
30'
Dortmund have weathered what seemed to be a deluge of opportunities for Mourinho's club and have slowly worked their way back into a favorable position in the match. The german side are more than satisfied with slowing the tempo to a grind and allowing the clock to run.
28'
Regardless of how well it seems Madrid have been able to control tempo and pace until this point, there will be nothing to show for it to this point. A disappointment considering how well they have played thus far.
26'
Fábio Coentrão (Real Madrid) is shown a yellow card
The spaniard has brought Lewandowski to the ground. He steps directly on the striker's foot while going in for a ball and the polish international is in pain but playing on.
25'
A very important block from Hummels. Mesut Özil manages to beat Piszczek down the left flank and delivers to Di Maria who launches an effort towards goal but only manages to hit Hummels's body.
24'
It's as if the two sides switched roles after the first leg! Although Dortmund have had one or two chances from the counter it has been a game totally dominated by Madrid to this point.
22'
It has been twice now that Dortmund have use their counter attacking skill to make things uncomfortable for the home side. The most recent counter is well defended by Madrid but the away club seem very content relying on the counter.
19'
The german side have to be pleased that the score still stands unchanged. Cristiano Ronaldo, Gonzalo Higuaín and Mesut Özil have all had chances that could have, and maybe should have, gone in.
17'
Perhaps Dortmund thought their task tonight would be simple, they have simply looked undermanned against the spanish side since the opening whistle.
15'
Mesut Özil has to score! He receives a pass sprinting down the middle of the field, finding room behind Marcel Schmelzer. His shot just inside the penalty area drifts past the right post to the luck of the german side. Real have had three huge opportunities through 15 minutes.
14'
Substitution (in) Borussia Dortmund -> Kevin Großkreutz
14'
Substitution (out) Borussia Dortmund -> Mario Götze
13'
Weidenfeller saves his team from a huge opportunity from the spanish side. Cristiano Ronaldo slashes an aerial cross out of the air directly in front of the German keeper but sees his attempt pushed away.
12'
Dortmund saw their first opportunity to counter attack between Mario Götze and Robert Lewandowski but the action comes to nothing. Now Götze has come off of the pitch. He seems to have tweaked something in his left leg.
11'
Higuaín rolls on the ground after a foul from Piszczek for a few moments. Özil's free kick reaches the had of Ronaldo but the striker is whistled for offside positioning.
10'
The opportunities have kept coming for the home club. There have been no dangerous efforts for the Dortmund side and they will need to change that during the course of the match.
8'
One major change for the Madrid side is Luka Modrić's apperance at the expense of Sami Khedira from the beginning, Real need all the firepower they can afford to extend their Champions League season.
6'
Dortmund have been relegated to relying on counter attacks through the first few minutes. Madrid seem totally in their element with passing as well as taking on their defenders. If this keeps up the spanish side are certain to score.
4'
A huge chance for Gonzalo Higuaín! Fortunately for Dortmund, Weidenfeller can get his hands on the ball as it is deflected out for the second corner but the shot attempts keep coming from the spanish club.
2'
Madrid, as expected, have begun at a rapid pace. They have earned their first corner delivered by Mesut Özil. Di Maria's first attempt sails harmlessly over the goal but it is evident what Real's orders are.
1'
There's action in the Bernabéu stadium!
1'
Beginning
Just a few minutes until kick off!
In front of more than 80,000 spectators, Howard Webb and his two assistants Darren Cann and Mike Mullarkey will try to keep this most meaningful duel as clean as possible.
Without question the feel of the game will change dramatically based on who is capable of scoring the first goal. For the sake of uncertainty, Real would need to see the ball into the net rather quickly and see their chances develop from there. Conversely if Dortmund were to score quickly, the german club would practically reserve their spot in the Champions League final. Two of the world's best clubs will be underway in only a few minutes to decide who plays for the chance to become the best club in the world.
Dortmund should have no worries about playing on the spaniard's turf this time around. After a 2:2 tie in group play of the Champions League, the german side should know what to expect from the fans, the stadium itself, and how to check their nerves. There is still certainly a home advantage for the Mourinho's club and that may help them out in their search for the three goals. A game of catch up is something the spanish side would much rather do at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium than any other venue.
Robert Lewandowski is, of course, an important piece in this one. The scorer of all four Dortmund goals in the first leg will look to etch his name into the memory of Madrid fans and players. He will have plenty of support from Mario Götze, who is on the way to FC Bayern Munich after this season, and Marco Reus. The midfield battle will be an exciting one as both sides have remarkable playmakers. If Madrid can control the midfield, something they had struggles with in the first match, it could create plenty of opportunites for the home side.
There has only been one team in the history of the Champions League to advance after being down 4:1 in the first leg. The spanish club Deportivo La Coruna managed the feat in 2004 against AC Milan in quarter-final action. The odds seem to favor this Dortmund side and it would not be an insult for Madrid to bow out against a talented Dortmund team.
An important question is whether three goals is too much for Real Madrid. Although BVB have a huge advantage coming into the game, teams with Real's talent such as Arsenal against Bayern Munich have shown that no lead is safe in the second leg. Yet the german side did a great job bottling up Ronaldo in the opening match of this competition, it will be important for him to assert himself into the action early and often. For the leading side, Dortmund would do well to tally a goal in the early stages, then the game could be out of reach even for the likes of Ronaldo and Özil.
It will be a difficult march for José Mourinho's club after the 4:1 smacking they took at the hands of Borussia Dortmund at Signal Iduna Park a week ago. The spanish side are fairly fit besides the loss of Marcelo as are their german counterparts but even at full health it will be difficult for Cristiano Ronaldo and his teammates to overturn the deficit. Dortmund look to reach their first Champions League final since 1997, when they lifted the trophy at the expense of Juventus in a 3:1 thriller. Real Madrid's last final victory was 2001 and the injured Iker Casillas was the only member of that team who is present this time around. Which team will see their dreams shattered tonight?
Good evening football fans! We have an exciting prospect of a match coming to us shortly from the Bernabéu Stadium! Will Real Madrid be able to turn this Champions League second leg in their favor or will their german competition waltz their way into the Champions League final? Updates until kick off in little under an hour!
